August \u2013 in ganz Griechenland feiert man heute das Fest Maria Himmelfahrt. Auf Kythira besuchen mehr als tausend Gl\u00e4ubige das Kloster Panagia Myrtidiotissia. Es ist eine sehr eindr\u00fcckliche und farbige Zusammenkunft, vor allem wegen der Prozession, bei der die Ikone der Myrtidiotissa \u00fcber und rund um das Klostergel\u00e4nde getragen wird. Am Abend wird dann in Potamos traditionsgem\u00e4ss ein grosses Dorffest gefeiert. Die Tanzgruppe von Agia Pelagia er\u00f6ffnet den festlichen Abend, wobei der kytherianische Tanz \u201ePotamitikos\u201c nat\u00fcrlich nicht fehlen darf. Kommen Sie doch auch nach Potamos und tanzen Sie mit! Und &#8211; f\u00fcr alle, die davon nicht genug kriegen k\u00f6nnen \u2013 das n\u00e4chste Dorffest findet einen Tag danach in Fratsia statt, am 16. August.
