August wird der Namenstag von Agia Elessa gefeiert. Das Kloster Agia Elessa steht im S\u00fcdwesten Kythiras auf einem der h\u00f6chsten H\u00fcgel der Insel. Es wurde 1871 an dem Ort erbaut, wo Elessa von ihrem Vater gefoltert und schliesslich get\u00f6tet wurde, weil er nicht wollte, dass sich seine Tochter in die Einsamkeit zur\u00fcckzog und dem christlichen Glauben weihte.<br \/>\nViele Pilger bleiben w\u00e4hrend des Dekapentismou \u2013 der Periode der 15 Tage nach dem 15. August (Mari\u00e4 Himmelfahrt) \u2013 im Kloster. Dieser alten Tradition wird immer noch nachgelebt. Kommen Sie auf jeden Fall am 1. August zur Morgenmesse im Kloster Elessa, die vom Bischof von Kythira abgehalten wird. Nach der Messe (um ca. 10.00 Uhr) findet eine kurze Prozession durch das Klostergel\u00e4nde statt und anschliessend plaudert man bei Kaffee und hausgemachtem Geb\u00e4ck miteinander und geniesst die sch\u00f6ne Aussicht.<br \/>\n<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jedes Jahr am 1.
