Auf Kythira wird an diesem Tag ab 8.00 Uhr im bedeutendsten Kloster der Insel, Panagia Myrtidiotissa, eine Messe gelesen. Nach dem Gottesdienst tr\u00e4gt man die wundersch\u00f6ne Ikone der Myrtidiotissa in einer Prozession rund um das Klosterterrain. Gew\u00f6hnlich treffen dazu mehr als 1000 Gl\u00e4ubige ein. Ein sehr beeindruckendes, farbenfrohes Ereignis.<\/p>\n<p>Eine zweite, ebenfalls jahrhundertealte Tradition an diesem Tag ist das Dorffest von Potamos. Ab 21.00 Uhr versammeln sich nochmals mehr als 1000 Menschen, um auf dem Dorfplatz gemeinsam griechische Musik, traditionelle T\u00e4nze, Essen und Wein zu geniessen.
