September gefeiert wird. Das bedeutendste Kloster der Panagia Myrtidiotissa in Griechenland befindet sich auf Kythira und wurde dort gebaut, wo ein Hirte das Bildnis der Myrtidiotissa in brennenden Myrtestr\u00e4uchern fand. Viele griechische Pilger kommen eigens nach Kythira, um dieses Kloster zu besuchen und die prachtvolle Ikone der Myrtidiotissa anzubeten.<br \/>\nSehr eindr\u00fccklich ist die Messe am Namenstag, an der jeweils mehr als 1000 Gl\u00e4ubige teilnehmen. Das Hochamt beginnt um 9.00 Uhr und dauert bis ungef\u00e4hr 10.30 Uhr. Danach wird die Ikone in einer Prozession durch das Klostergel\u00e4nde getragen; die Dorfkapelle von Potamos l\u00e4uft voraus. Am Ende werden Kaffee und Softdrinks ausgeschenkt und selbst gebackene Leckereien verteilt.<br \/>\nDieses Jahr findet das grosse abschliessende Sommerfest in Agia Pelagia statt, am Samstag 22. September. Es beginnt um 21.00 Uhr. Der Boulevard ist f\u00fcr den Verkehr gesperrt, Musik und Tanz sind angesagt.
