De zee was kalm, meeuwen vlogen op en daalden verderop weer neer, al struinend snoven we de zilte lucht van aangespoeld zeewier op, met de intense blauwe hemel en de indrukwekkende geelkleurige kalksteen kliffen in ons vizier. Wat een schoonheid, wat een leegte en wat een stilte. Behalve wij was er verder niemand.<\/p>\n<p>Traditiegetrouw zochten we hartvormige stenen als aandenken van ons bezoek aan de geboorteplek van Aphrodite. De klim naar de Mino\u00efsche grafkamers en vervolgens naar de top van de klif, met de troon van Aphrodite, is letterlijk en figuurlijk het hoogtepunt van de wandeling.
