Op 21 mei 1864 schonken de Engelsen, die sinds 1809 de scepter zwaaiden over de Eptanissa, de eilanden aan de nieuwe Griekse koning, George I.<br \/>\nOp deze feestdag is er in Chora een speciale dienst in de Estavromenos Kerk (aanvang 1130 uur). Na afloop volgt een kranslegging op het plein van Chora en worden toespraken gehouden. De Fanfare uit Potamos speelt onder andere het Griekse volkslied.
