Summer on Kythira… too hot to walk? Certainly not, but you have to choose the right moment. Therefore, also in June, July and August, Pyrgos House organises three short guided walks. Frank is your guide, groups are small (min 4 – max 10 participants) and a walk lasts no longer than 2h30.
Two walks start late in the afternoon. Sunset provides a beautiful light to the landscape, the heat of the day is gone and the island gets back its peacefulness. This is the ideal time to stroll through the villages and to visit some churches which are especially open for the tour. Frank knows the narrowest alleys and the most beautiful ruins. In every village, he tells exciting stories about its history and culture.
In the morning, we start the tour through a shady and cool part of Kythira: the stream that starts in Mylopotamos – known for its waterfalls, watermills and small lakes. Two churches will be open and you will visit a beautifully restored watermill.
