Volunteering Kythira

Let’s walk and clean!!

Let’s walk and clean!! Enjoy volunteering in Kythira!!

We need your support and help clearing Kythira’s old footpaths in the areas that have been affected by the fires of July 2025. This winter, every fortnight, we will clear the paths of burnt branches and shrubs. And we will repair damaged dry-stone walls.

Join us on Saturday November 8th
Location: cemetery at Mylopotamos
Start: 11 am
Finish: 3 pm

Please bring with you garden gloves and, if you have them, secateurs. We will provide a bottle of water and snacks.

Also, your support is more than welcome if you are not living in Kythira. Apart from volunteering support, we need financial assistance, mainly to buy more tools and to pay the workers who do the tough jobs with chain saws and brush cutters. If you want to support us financially, please send an email to info@pyrgoshouse.com and we will inform you how you can donate money. We will keep you regularly informed about ongoing activities, the costs and the use of your funds.

Let’s do this together, let’s enjoy our passion for Kythira!!

Many thanks for your support,

Frank

  1. Congratulations, Frank!

Even though we are far away, the Routes of the Olive Tree would like to warmly congratulate you on this wonderful initiative of volunteering and love for Kythera.
Your action to clean and restore the island’s trails after the summer fires is a true example of collective awareness and respect for nature and cultural heritage.

We would be pleased if you could send us some photos from the activity so that we can share them through the Routes of the Olive Tree networks and inspire other communities to follow your example.
    With appreciation,
The Routes of the Olive Tree (OTRoutes)
