Pyrgos House – Kythira Greece

Summer walks

Summer on Kythira… too hot to walk? Certainly not, but you have to choose the right moment. Therefore, also in June, July and August, Pyrgos House organises three short guided walks. Frank is your guide, groups are small (min 4 – max 10 participants) and a walk lasts no longer than 2h30.

Two walks start late in the afternoon. Sunset provides a beautiful light to the landscape, the heat of the day is gone and the island gets back its peacefulness. This is the ideal time to stroll through the villages and to visit some churches which are especially open for the tour.

On Saturday morning, we start the tour through a shady and cool part of Kythira: the stream that starts in Mylopotamos – known for its waterfalls, watermills and small lakes. Two churches will be open and you will visit a beautifully restored watermill.

Dates: weekly in June, July and August

Wednesday 6 pm: Aroniadika – Osios Theodoros – Pitsinades – Agios Ilias – Aroniadika

Friday 6 pm: Potamos – Melitianika – Trifyllianika – English Bridge – Potamos (visit to tsipouro distillery / tsipouro and fatourada tasting)

Saturday 9 am: Mylopotamos – Waterfall – Watermills – Mylopotamos

Price per walk: €15,00 per person (including coffee/soft drink and homemade sweets)

Advance reservation is required. Call Frank (0030) 698986 3140 or visit Pyrgos House Tourist Office, in Potamos next to the church.
