Kythira’s footpaths go around the world

Recently a very interesting article about the walking opportunities on Kythira was published in ‘Trails around the world’, the magazine of the ‘Worlds Trails Network’ and it describes the old pilgrimage route between Diakofti and Avlemonas where the walker visits the Agios Giorgos Church and the Agia Moni Monastery. This 16 km route connects several periods of Kythira’s rich history. It covers 4000 years, from the Minoan period (2000 BC) until now. Here you can read the complete article and by clicking on this link you have access to the magazine.
