This week, I received such a lovely letter from Australia that I would like to share it with you. The letter says:
Dear Mr. Van Weerde,
I am writing to say how much I have enjoyed reading your book ‘Kythira, just a special island’. You brought these wonderful folk alive, with your respect and love for them. I am so sorry I only knew of a few, but their stories are full of simple knowledge that would have been forgotten by the historians if you had not conducted these excellent interviews.
I thank you sincerely from the bottom of my heart.
Sometime from Kypriotianiaka (I am almost 90, in January 24, so might not get back and thank you personally)

seit wir zwei Mal aus Kythira waren, ist diese Insel unsere stille Sehnsucht. So hoffen wir, dass es 2024 bessere Flugverbindungen von Salzburg, München oder Wien geben wird.
